THOMAS CHRISTIANSEN: A BIG RESULT

Head coach on Bristol City win.

Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen spoke exclusively to LUTV following Saturday’s victory over Bristol City.

The Whites got back to winning ways in style with a 3-0 victory at Ashton Gate, to move up to fourth place in the Sky Bet Championship.

United’s head coach was delighted with the performance against the Robins, who were previously unbeaten at home.

“There was a really good belief that we could take the three points today,” said Christiansen.

“The players responded on the pitch, keeping the ball and controlling the game, the defensive line was very good and strong today, so in all areas I am very satisfied.

“It now looks like the changes were very good, but that is down to the players who make them good and their performance was perfect.

“I am happy that when we have made important changes, that the result is reflected in that, but my confidence in the team has always been the same.

“I didn’t see the incident with Gaetano Berardi, but I spoke to the referee and he said it was a clear red card.”

“This is a big result, the confidence in the players after three defeats wasn’t the same as when we were winning, but after today, we will have it back again, because it was a great victory.

“I also want to pass my condolences to Stuart Dallas and his family after the bad news about his mother, this victory is for him.”

The head coach also praised the impact of Ronaldo Vieira who was re-called to the starting line-up in the win.

“Ronaldo played very well, I told him before the game that this was his opportunity to prove that he should play and he took that chance.
