Leeds United defender Gaetano Berardi spoke exclusively to LUTV following Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of Reading. 

Modou Barrow’s second half strike, coupled with a late penalty miss by United midfielder Pablo Hernandez, saw Jaap Stam’s side take all three points.

Despite Leeds’ third defeat on the spin, Berardi has called on everyone to remain positive.

“I feel bad of course and very disappointed,” said Berardi.

“We should have played better, especially in the first half, but we deserved a draw as a minimum, we didn’t deserve to lose the game.

“Now we have to keep going, we have to work and get ready for our next game, we need to push ourselves, because we need to stay where we are now until the end of the season.

“This is a hard league, anyone can win or lose against each other and we have another difficult month coming up now.

“We need to be ready and be positive, we are in a bad moment now, but we have to try and win our next game and I’m sure if we can do that, we will go on a good run again.

“It is great to see the stadium so full here at Elland Road, but it is important that everyone remains positive, the players, staff and everyone in the crowd.”
