THOMAS CHRISTIANSEN: EVERYBODY STOOD SHOULDER TO SHOULDER

Head coach on Birmingham win.

Thomas Christiansen was thrilled with another Leeds United victory at Elland Road, as the Whites dream start to the season continued.

Following the 5-0 victory over Burton Albion last weekend, Leeds followed it up with a tough 2-0 win over Harry Redknapp’s Blues side on Tuesday.

The Leeds head coach heaped praise on the character of his side, in managing to secure a fourth successive league victory and clean sheet.

“I’m happy with the performance of my players, even when we don’t play well, we were able to take the three points and that shows the character of the team, everybody stood shoulder to shoulder together,” said Christiansen.

“We managed to take a very important result, we played against a very good team in Birmingham with top players, they will not stay in the position where they are in the table for much longer with the quality that they have.

“I am delighted with the three points, when you are not playing well, the only way to get the win is to work hard and fight for each other.

“We have a lot of quality players here on the bench, they helped us when they came on, Stuart Dallas got the goal and Gaetano Berardi and Kemar Roofe both helped the team, which was good and we have another clean sheet on our account now which is important.

“At the moment I don’t believe you can get much better, I would like to thank the fans for our support, who have got something back from the players, it was great to see so many fans on a Tuesday night pushing the team on.

“There are no easy games in this division and we will go to Millwall prepared and ready to fight for the three points.”
