Young United midfielder Lewis Cook has been called up to the England Under-18 squad for the game with Holland next week.

The Young Lions will face Holland on Friday September 5 (7.30pm) at Bury’s JD Stadium.

Lewis was part of England’s Under-17s that won the Under-17 European Championships this summer in Malta and he will now make the step up to Under-18 level.

Cook was named along with 14 other squad members that won the Championship when manager Neil Dewship announced his squad on Thursday.

There is also international recognition for players in the Academy with Robbie McDaid among the Northern Ireland Under-19 squad and the striker is also on stand by for the Under-21 side. Eoghan Stokes was named in the Republic of Ireland Under-19 squad and Will Huffer (England Under-17) and Dan Atkinson (England Under-19) are also on stand by.
