THOMAS CHRISTIANSEN: IT WAS A GAME OF TWO HALVES

Head coach on Fulham draw.

Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen spoke exclusively to LUTV following Tuesday’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Fulham.

The Whites and the Cottagers played out a 0-0 draw at Elland Road, with both sides retaining an unbeaten start to the season.

United have now taken five points from a possible nine and sit in sixth place in the division and over 28,000 were in attendance at Tuesday’s fixture.

Christiansen was pleased with his sides second half performance, but called once again for his side to be more clinical, after recording a successive 0-0 draw.

“It was a game of two halves, in the first they dominated and controlled the game, Fulham’s short passing was much better than ours,” said Christiansen.

“We finished well in the final 15 minutes of the first half and in the second half we dominated and created opportunities, but I think a draw was probably a fair result.

“The second half was really good, our intensity, willingness and belief to try and get the three points was really pleasing and perhaps we deserved it.

“I believe in Fulham we faced one of the best teams in the league, they play really good football and will be challenging this season.

“We need to be more dangerous up front and take our opportunities, but it is the beginning of the season and I believe the players are getting better with each game that passes.

“Once again I’d like to thank our supporters for their support, they helped us a lot, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough for us to get the three points.

“Saturday against Sunderland is another big and tough game, they have a really good squad, but we will try to play our way and go for the three points.”
