KALVIN PHILLIPS SIGNS NEW DEAL

KALVIN PHILLIPS SIGNS NEW DEAL

Midfielder pens four year contract.

Leeds United are delighted to announce that home-grown midfielder Kalvin Phillips has agreed an extension to his contract, keeping him at Elland Road until 2021.

21 year-old Phillips, a product of the famous Leeds United Academy, made his debut for the Whites against Wolves in April 2015.

He featured 40 times during the 2016/17 campaign, scoring once, a free-kick in the defeat to Nottingham Forest last August.

The combative midfielder’s form last season earned him the EFL Young Player of the Month award for October 2016.

Speaking about the new deal Philips said: “I am really pleased to commit my future to Leeds United before the start of an exciting new season.

“I joined the club when I was 14 and grew up in Leeds, so to sign a contract extension is an honour for me and I’m looking forward to helping the club get back to where it belongs.”

Phillips joins fellow academy graduates Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Lewie Coyle and Ronaldo Vieira in signing a new deal ahead of the start of the season.
