AUSTRIA: DAY FIVE

AUSTRIA: DAY FIVE

LUTV go behind the scenes.

Preparations for Thursday’s pre-season friendly with Borussia Mönchengladbach in Schwaz stepped up on day five of Leeds United’s tour in Austria.

Defender Matthew Pennington, who has joined the club on a season-long loan from Premier League side Everton arrived at the team hotel on Tuesday evening, ready to link up with the first team squad at breakfast.

Ahead of lunch we caught up with New Zealand striker Chris Wood who spoke to us about his summer away on international duty and the pre-season tour so far.

The Whites then headed to their training base and were once again put through their paces by Thomas Christiansen and Pennington took part in his first session with his new team-mates.

Goalkeeper Marco Silvestri was given permission to leave United’s tour of Austria and he has completed a permanent transfer to Serie A side Hellas Verona.

Fellow United stopper Bailey Peacock-Farrell will now link up with the Leeds squad in Austria.

LUTV also looked ahead to tomorrow’s pre-season match and we got the views of Stuart Dallas and Christiansen.
