EVERTON DEFENDER JOINS ON LOAN

Whites secure Pennington.

Leeds United are pleased to announce that central defender Matthew Pennington has joined the club on a season-long loan from Premier League outfit Everton.

The arrival of the 22 year-old bolsters the United defence ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

Despite his age, Pennington has a wealth of first team experience, having played in Sky Bet League One for three different clubs; Tranmere Rovers, Coventry City and Walsall.

During those loan spells Pennington racked up 47 appearances in all competitions, before returning to Everton.

With the Goodison Park outfit, he has made nine outings, with seven of those coming in the Premier League and he scored his first goal for the club in April’s Merseyside derby.

Pennington has linked up up with the Leeds squad in Austria and could make his debut in Thursday’s friendly with Borussia Mönchengladbach.

With the acquisition of Elland Road and an exciting summer ahead, there has never been a better time to become a Leeds United Season Ticket Holder.

New Adult Season Ticket Holders in the Family Stand can enjoy every home Sky Bet Championship game for as little as £21.04 per match, with Under-11s equating to just £3.00 per game.
