BURSASPOR: WHITES SUFFER TRAINING GAME DEFEAT

Thomas Christiansen’s Leeds United suffered a training game defeat against Süper Lig outfit Bursaspor, in a late arrangement, the Whites gave a good account of themselves, but clinical finishing proved to be the difference between the two sides.

William Ekong headed Bursaspor into an 11th minute lead with a looping header which found the top left corner.

Leeds almost hit back immediately through Stuart Dallas after he was played through on goal by Liam Cooper and found the back of the net with a low effort into the bottom corner, but it was controversially ruled out for offside.

Kemar Roofe, Euan O’Kane, Pablo Hernandez and Kalvin Phillips all had good chances in the first period, but neither were able to pull Leeds level.

After the break changes were made to both sides with game time for Samu Sáiz, Ezgjan Allioski and Caleb Ekuban, the latter and Marcus Antonsson both had chances, before Tomas Necid’s header extended Bursaspor’s lead.

The win was secured for Bursaspor when Sinan Bakış dribbled into the box and found the bottom corner, Antonsson had two further chances for Leeds before the end, but he couldn’t find a breakthrough.
