THOMAS CHRISTIANSEN: I AM VERY HAPPY WITH WHAT I SAW

Gaffer on friendly win.

Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen spoke exclusively to LUTV following Wednesday’s pre-season victory over Harrogate Town.

The Whites recorded a 4-2 victory over the Vanarama National League North side, to give Christiansen a winning start to his tenure at Leeds.

United’s head coach fielded two different sides in either half and gave his assessment on the win.

“I’m very happy with what I saw in the game, we were able to give 45 minutes to all of the players which was good.

“I liked what I saw in certain situations, of course there is a lot to work on, but I am generally very satisfied.

“The team showed many good signs in the build-up play, of course the bad thing was conceding two goals, but we have time to work on that.

“We have only just over a week of training, we will continue to analyse today’s game over the next few days.

“It was great being in the dugout for the first time and to see the players in action, because this is the real thing on the pitch.

“Everything now is about building for Bolton Wanderers and having a clear idea of who will play.”

The Whites head coach also hinted there may be some new arrivals in time for Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Guiseley at Nethermoor Park.

“There is a lot of competition and there are still some new players to come in, but everyone should have an opportunity and these games are for that.

“The new players will need some time to adapt to the team, some players may also go out with players coming in, so we will see what the situation is at the weekend with regards to selection at Guiseley.”
