CARABAO CUP: LEEDS TO HOST PORT VALE

United handed home draw in Round One of the Carabao Cup

Leeds United will host Port Vale in Round One of the Carabao Cup (formerly the EFL Cup) at Elland Road, with ties to be played week commencing 7th August 2017.

In what will be new head coach Thomas Christiansen’s first taste of cup action in England, the tie against Port Vale will also see former United player Michael Brown return to Elland Road in his first role as manager.

United and Port Vale who have faced each other on 23 occasions, of which Leeds have won 15, last met in 2008 when the game ended 3-3 after a Rui Marques opener and Dougie Freedman brace, were cancelled out by goals from Paul Harsley, Danny Whitaker and Luke Rodgers.
