PABLO HERNANDEZ: IT HAS BEEN AN AMAZING WEEKEND

Midfielder celebrates Preston win and family success at The Masters.

Tuesday marked Pablo Hernandez’s 32nd birthday and he was given the perfect present in what proved to be a fantastic weekend all around for the Spanish midfielder.

Hernandez netted United’s second goal, in the Whites 3-0 victory over Preston North End as Garry Monk’s side got back to winning ways at Elland Road.

However that was not the only celebration for Hernandez, as his brother-in-law, Sergio Garcia won golf’s biggest prize, The Masters.

“It was an amazing weekend for me and my family, we won the three points and on Sunday night we were all watched Sergio win The Masters.

“For my family it is a great moment and one for us all to enjoy with Sergio and I hope now we can enjoy the next weeks with Leeds United.

“It was exciting to watch, I was watching on the TV with my wife and son, previously we have been to a number of tournaments in the USA, but obviously we couldn’t go to this one with me being in Leeds.

“I spoke to Sergio on Monday, he is very happy because he has followed this dream for a long time, he went out of tournaments, but had never won a major and now he has, it is unbelievable for him and his family, I am really happy for him.

“I hope and believe in the future he will win more majors, it is great for Spain as a country and the sport.

“The fans should know Sergio follows a lot of Leeds United and now we just need the club to reach the Premier League and it will be a perfect year for us.

“Maybe we will see him at Elland Road, I hope this will happen, he told me a while ago if he had a chance he will come and watch a game, so it is possible.”
