ROB GREEN: TO GET ANOTHER YEAR IS PLEASING

Goalkeeper on contract extension.

Leeds United stopper Rob Green is happy to have extended his stay at Elland Road for another season.

The Whites stopper joined the club from Queens Park Rangers over the summer and has played an instrumental role between the sticks for United this season.

Green told LUTV about his delight of remaining in West Yorkshire with the Whites until at least the end of the 2017/18 season.

He said: “To get another year is pleasing, I have loved my time here so far and I’m really pleased with how it has gone, so long may it continue.

“My wife has never lived outside London and other than my time at Norwich, I have also spent most of my life there, but we have moved up here and loved it.

“The people around have been wonderful, the club has been great and it has been a really enjoyable experience.

“I feel good and sharp, I think I am contributing to what has become a relatively successful team in a short space of time.

“Whilst I can carry on doing that, I just want to carry on playing and by working hard on and off the pitch, there is no reason why I can’t keep doing so.

“When I signed the gaffer spoke about the potential of the club and I think we have made one step of many to help the club get to where it wants to be and what the fans deserve.”

United currently sit in fourth spot in the Sky Bet Championship with eight games remaining and the goalkeeper spoke about the aims of the side between now and the end of the season.

“All we can do now is ask the question,” said Green.

“We have a young side and still have a lot to learn, but we go into every game knowing that if we can put a performance in like last Saturday’s, eight times on the bounce, then we will win eight games and you are asking the question.

“Generally two points a game wins you promotion and if we win every game it will give us 93 points, so just one over.

“It is a huge ask, but we are looking up rather than down, you can never say never, we just need to ask that question.
