GREEN EXTENDS STAY

Goalkeeper to remain at Elland Road.

Leeds United are pleased to confirm that goalkeeper Robert Green will remain with the club for a further 12 months.

The Whites stopper has activated an appearance related clause in his contract, tying his future at Elland Road until at least the end of the 2017/18 season.

37-year-old Green joined United in the summer from fellow Sky Bet Championship side Queens Park Rangers and has been an influential figure between the sticks for the Whites this season.

He recently made his 600th career league appearance and made his 39th outing of the campaign against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

To date in his first season with the Whites, the former England international has kept 14 clean sheets, helping the club march up the Championship.

The stopper will now be hoping to keep up his recent form as Leeds battle for promotion during the final eight games of the season.
