GARRY MONK: WE WERE BELOW OUR USUAL LEVELS

Head coach on QPR draw.

Leeds United head coach Garry Monk spoke exclusively to LUTV following the 0-0 draw with Queens Park Rangers at Elland Road.

The Whites struggled to break down a solid R’s side, creating limited chances during the 90 minutes.

It was United’s first 0-0 draw of the campaign and Monk was left disappointed with the result.

“The positives are it is a clean sheet and a point, but it is obviously frustrating,” said Monk.

“We didn’t do enough to win the game, we were never fully at it from start to finish and we are frustrated with that, because we have been good at Elland Road.

“We have done very well in our home games, we haven’t had a performance like that in many home games this season.

“On all aspects we were below our usual levels, but we have a hard working group who will bounce back.

“The players effort is always there, we tried, but it just didn’t quite work for us, we are a team that has to be at 100% and we make no excuses for anything.

“We have set a high standard and these lads are working fantastically well, our intention is to try and perform at our best in every game.

“This group are more than capable and we know there will be ups and downs, our players have always responded well and we have suffered a little negative with the result, but we are six games unbeaten and we need to keep that points tally going.

“We will focus again for next week, we know we will have to play better against Brighton next week who are an excellent side and look good for automatic promotion.
