Leeds United were made to settle for a point for a second game running as the Whites played out a goal-less draw with QPR at Elland Road.

Garry Monk made four changes to his starting line-up following the midweek clash with Fulham as Ronaldo Vieira, Pablo Hernandez, Luke Ayling and Chris Wood returned.

The visitors created the most chances in the opening stages, Luke Freeman fired from 20 yards on the half volley, but couldn’t direct his effort on goal.

QPR then went close from a corner, Darnell Furlong got a good flick on, but Conor Washington at the back post was unable to stab it home.

Former United striker Matt Smith almost broke the deadlock in the 12th minute, he got his head on the end of Joel Lynch’s cross, but his effort went over the crossbar.

Washington then went through on goal, after a neat turn, but Leeds had Rob Green to thank, who made a super save on his 600th league appearance.

Leeds’ first opportunity came six minutes later, Ronaldo Vieira put in a decent cross which found Alfonso Pedraza a the back post, he fired on goal forcing Alex Smithies into action and the QPR defence cleared with Chris Wood waiting to pounce.

Gaetano Berardi put a long throw into the visitors box to cause problems, the ball fell to Luke Ayling on the edge of the box, but his effort was well blocked.

Ayling then picked up his tenth yellow card of the season for a foul on Jake Bidwell, ruling him out of United’s next two fixtures.

Just before the break Berardi sent Kemar Roofe into the box, who cut inside before shooting, but his effort deflected wide.

After the break Leeds came out of the blocks, Ayling put in a good cross looking for Pedraza, but Furlong did well to head away the danger under pressure.

QPR then went close from a set-piece, Freeman whipped in a corner and Jansson cleared, Bidwell fired at goal from the edge, forcing Green into action.

Washington then had another great opportunity, he cut inside Kyle Bartley, before entering the penalty area, but he could only put his effort wide.

Substitute Hadi Sacko had a positive impact, he liked up with Ayling who teed up Hernandez to cross, Wood got on the end of it with his back to goal, but his header was off target.

At the other end Furlong put a long throw into the box and Freeman headed on goal, but Green made a relatively easy stop.

Sacko then put a really good ball into the box and Chris Wood went down claiming his shirt was being tugged, however the referee waved away the protests.

Bartley then went down at a Leeds free-kick in the last minute of normal time, with Hernandez delivering, but neither team could get a vital break-through with United having to settle for a point for the second game running.
