 Fulham 1 (Cairney 90+5) Leeds United 1 (Ream O.G. 5)

Leeds United head coach Garry Monk made five changes from Friday's victory at Birmingham, with Charlie Taylor making his first start since December.

Leeds got off to a dream start inside five minutes, Kyle Bartley floated a free-kick forwards and Tim Ream sliced the ball beyond Fulham goalkeeper David Button and into his own net.

Gaetano Berardi then tested Button from range, a corner fell to the full-back and he volleyed at goal, forcing the Fulham stopper into a good save.

Fulham then went close through captain Tom Cairney, he was teed up to shoot by Neeskens Kebano and his effort from 25 yards curled just wide of the post.

Kebano then thought he had pulled a goal back for Fulham, he cut inside before firing at goal and his effort bounced down from the crossbar appearing to cross the line, but no goal was given.

Rob Green was then forced into action when a corner fell to Scott Malone who shot from distance, forcing the Leeds goalkeeper into a good save.

Malone then had another opportunity after being teed up by Cairney at a corner, but he couldn’t keep his effort down.

Alfonso Pedraza had the chance to double Leeds’ lead when he went through on goal, but he couldn’t get the better of Button from a narrow angle.

Half Time: Fulham 0-1 Leeds United

After the break Taylor made good progress down the left side, before letting fire, but he could only fire wide.

The troublesome Kebano had an opportunity to level when he created space to shoot in the Leeds box, but his effort hit the side netting.

Kemar Roofe then had an attempt from range for Leeds, but Button in the Fulham goal made a good save.

Fulham continued to press, dominating possession and territory, but Leeds defended heroically and almost scored again, against the run of play.  Roofe found substitute Modou Barrow, who teed up Pedraza, but his effort was denied by the post.

The home side continued to press, but Cairney couldn’t find the target with a low effort.

Stefan Johansen then went close, but his shot was denied by a good save from Green in the Leeds goal and from the resulting corner, the ball pinged around the area, before Scott Parker fired over.

Phillips then saw red for a second yellow card in the 90th minute, before Green made a fine save from Gohi Cyriac to keep Leeds in front.

However Green couldn’t prevent Leeds from leaving with all three points, when with the last kick of the game Cairney found the top left corner with a long range effort.
