Leeds United can confirm Luke Murphy has joined fellow Sky Bet Championship side Burton Albion on loan until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old signed for United in July 2013 from Crewe Alexandra and went on to make 111 appearances for the Whites.

The midfielder has found opportunities limited this season though, having featured just once, in the EFL Cup victory over Luton Town back in August.

Murphy will be looking to boost Burton who sit just one place above the drop zone, as Nigel Clough’s side look to secure Championship football for a second season, following their promotion in 2016.
