PONTUS JANSSON: WE HAVE TO KEEP GOING

Defender on Villa and Rotherham.

Pontus Jansson felt his side deserved more than a point in Thursday’s draw with Aston Villa.

Leeds extended their unbeaten run in the Sky Bet Championship to four matches, following the 1-1 stalemate at Villa Park.

Jansson scored and hit the crossbar in the match, whilst Hadi Sacko also hit the crossbar late on as United came away with a point.

“We played really good football in the second half and created a lot of chances against a strong Aston Villa team,” said Jansson.

“If you had asked me before the game I would have taken 1-1, but because we played so well in the second half, we feel like we have lost two points.

“It is always disappointing when you let a goal in at the end of the game, when you have played good football.

“We had a really good chance after with Hadi, but unfortunately it hit the crossbar, which is football, sometimes they go in and sometimes they don’t.

“It is always a special feeling when you score, to score for this club with all the supporters here backing us makes it even better.

“We are happy we are in a good position in the table, we want to go to the Premier League and currently we are in the Play-Offs.

Jansson now insists the side will be doing everything to get back to winning ways against Rotherham United on Monday.

He said: “We have Rotherham in the next game, we have to keep going and put all of our focus into that game.

“If we can get the three points against Rotherham on Monday, then a point at Aston Villa isn’t too bad.

“We are strong at Elland Road, hopefully it will be a good game, hopefully the stadium will be full, we are strong with the fans and we really need them.”
