PONTUS JANSSON: BRIGHTON IS GOING TO BE A TOUGH GAME

Sweden international on south coast clash.

Defender Pontus Jansson spoke to the press ahead of Friday’s trip to Brighton & Hove Albion.

The centre-back has played an instrumental role in helping Leeds climb the Championship table and United are looking to close the gap on second placed Brighton with victory at the Amex Stadium.

Jansson admitted he has settled into life at the club well and is pleased with where the team currently find themselves.

“I’m really happy to be here, I think Leeds has changed my football life, I feel happy to play football again and have the love for the sport again, which I am really thankful for,” said Jansson.

“It was a really important match to win last weekend at Elland Road in front of such a big crowd, against Aston Villa who were a Premier League team last year.

“We showed everybody we are a good team, inside the team we believe in ourselves, but now also I think people outside are starting to believe in us and a lot of people are now taking us seriously.

“We have to take it game by game though, we have Brighton on Friday and all of our focus is on that match.

“I think the head coach is really good at keeping us all grounded and level headed which is important for the team.

“Brighton is going to be a tough game, they are at the top end of the table for a reason, I hear they have good fans and a good football stadium

“We go into every game believing we can win now, we have good momentum and we are playing good football.

“We have to believe again on Friday, that we can come out of the match with three points.”
