INTERNATIONAL: NOVEMBER ROUND-UP PART 2

Jansson and Wood in action.

Pontus Jansson helped Sweden to secure a 2-0 away victory over Hungary in a friendly on Tuesday evening.  The centre back played the full 90 minutes in the heart of the Sweden defence in Budapest.  Goals from Sam Larsson and Isaac Thelin secured Sweden the win, with Jansson putting in a fine performance to help his side keep a clean sheet.

Earlier on Tuesday, Chris Wood once again captained New Zealand in their World Cup qualifier against New Caledonia.  Having beaten New Caledonia on Saturday 3-0 in Auckland, New Zealand were unable to replicate their performance away from home, in the return tie as they were held to a 0-0 draw.  The All Whites however sit top of their three team group with the four points collected.

Both Jansson and Wood will now return to Thorp Arch to prepare for Sunday’s Championship clash with Newcastle United.
