DENTON: I REALLY FEEL A PART OF IT

Defender on road to recovery.

Young defender Tyler Denton admitted he is loving life in the first team fold at Leeds United.

The defender made a scoring debut against Luton Town back in August in the EFL Cup, but has since suffered an injury setback.

Speaking at the Christmas lights switch on at the Merrion Centre, Denton spoke about his current situation and the season to date.

He said: “The recovery is going well, it was a bit on an innocuous injury, I just slipped in training and my ankle swelled up.

“I’m running again now, the rehab has gone well and I am hoping to be back involved with training from next week.

“This season I’ve been really happy to involved with the first team as much as I have been, I really feel a part of it this year.

“I think I am developing as a player, for the team it has been exceptional, we had our goals at the start of the season to be at the top end of the table and now the goal is to stay there.

“I’ve loved every minute of working under Garry Monk, as soon as he came through the door he has had me with the first team.

“He really puts an arm around the players, he lets them know how much he cares and of course he has played at the highest level as a player.

“I’m itching to get back out on to the pitch, especially with the team doing so well I want to be a part of it, so hopefully I can impress the Gaffer and get some more minutes.”
