RONALDO VIEIRA: THIS TEAM NEVER GIVES UP

Midfielder delighted with winner.

Ronaldo Vieira spoke exclusively to LUTV following his stoppage time winner against Norwich City.

Vieira’s strike in the 91st minute secured Leeds a 3-2 victory at Carrow Road and a third victory in a row, in the Championship as United moved into the play-off places.

The goal was a landmark for the 18-year-old, with it being the first of his Leeds United career.

Vieira talked us through his strike: “Everyone backed off towards their goal and I had enough space to prepare the strike.

“I asked for the ball at the free-kick and luckily it went in and we got three points, it felt great.”

“I have done it a few times in training, we all take time after sessions to practice different things to prepare for each game.

Vieira also praised the Leeds following at Carrow Road and spoke about the spirit within the camp.

“We had unbelievable support again, with Norwich being four hours away it is not an easy place to get to.

“It shows what the team is doing, within a short period of time I think we have done well and I think we will continue to improve, because there is a lot we can get better at still.

“The character of this team never gives up, we always keep going and luckily we got the win.

“Everyone is buzzing with the win, the atmosphere is different now to what it was, we must not get ahead of ourselves though because there is a long way to go.

“We have to keep level headed, we all know what we want to achieve, but we have some tough fixtures coming up.

“We have two weeks to prepare ourselves for Newcastle now, the gaffer will input some new ideas and things we need to work on to be ready.”
