EFL CUP: LEEDS HEADING TO ANFIELD

EFL CUP: LEEDS HEADING TO ANFIELD

United handed Premier League tie.

Leeds United will travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool in the quarter final of the EFL Cup.

Garry Monk’s side have been rewarded with a Premier League tie, following Tuesday’s penalty shootout victory over Norwich City.

The last time the two sides met was seven years ago in the same competition, when Liverpool ran out 1-0 winners at Elland Road thanks to David Ngog’s second half strike.

Our last trip to Anfield was back in 2003, in the Premier League, when goals from Michael Owen, Danny Murphy and Florent Sinama Pongolle helped Liverpool to a 3-1 victory, with Alan Smith grabbing United’s only goal.

The tie will be played during the week commencing 28th November 2016.

Ticket details will be announced in due course.
