MULHERN THE LATEST TO EXTEND

Young striker signs new deal with United...

Striker Frank Mulhern is the latest United youngster to extend his stay at the club after signing a new deal.

The 19-year-old, a Republic of Ireland Under-19s international, follows in the footsteps of team-mates Tyler Denton, Eoghan Stokes and Alex Purver, who all penned new one-year contracts earlier this week.

Mulhern, who signed professional terms with the club last summer, was the joint top goalscorer for our Under-21s last season after finding the net eight times from 25 appearances.

The striker’s signature is the last of the five young professionals who were offered new deals earlier this summer.

“I’m delighted to have extended my stay at Leeds,” Mulhern told leedsunited.com. “I’ve been at the club for a while now and I really want to kick on.

“It’s been good to get back into pre-season this week and start working with lads again.

“There are a lot of young players at the club and everyone is trying to make an impression going into the new season.

“I scored a few goals with the Under-21s last season and hopefully I can continue that and show what I can do.”
