Whites victorious on West Coast.

Northern Division One

Morecambe Ladies 1 (Swarbrick 16) Leeds United Ladies 2 (Morris 56, Hunt 66)

A superb second half comeback from Leeds United, saw the Whites make it four games unbeaten and climb up to ninth place in the league.

With both sides trying to play fast free flowing football in difficult conditions, it was Leeds who had the first chance of the game when Carey Huegett was denied from a narrow angle after 10 minutes.

It was the hosts who went in front six minutes later though, when Yasmine Swarback scored from inside the six yard box.

Lauryn Colman then saved from Louise Gibbins, as the snow and sleet started to fall in Lancashire.

Leeds grew into the game and came close through Huegett and Hannon just before half time, but were unable to get a breakthrough.

Half Time: Morecambe 1-0 Leeds United

The second half saw wave after wave of Leeds attacks, Jemma White was first to go close volleying just wide.

Huegett again fired just over the bar, before a superb solo goal from Shelby Morris levelled matters.

The game was turned on its head when Rebecca Hunt who came close to giving Leeds the lead just moments earlier, found the net with a strike from 20 yards.

Leeds managed to see out the remaining minutes unscathed to ensure it was seven points picked up from the last nine available.
