Leeds United set for battle in this year's ePL tournament

This year's ePremier League finals kick off from Tuesday 23rd March and Leeds United's two qualifiers are taking on some of the world’s best FIFA 21 players, competing for the chance to lift the ePL trophy.

After a gruelling qualifying tournament involving thousands of fans, Ollelito and Michael Fisher won the chance to represent Leeds United on the biggest stage in eSports.

Want to follow Leeds United in the ePL?

The Xbox players open the competition on Tuesday 23rd March with live coverage from 2pm on Leeds United's Twitch and YouTube accounts.

On Wednesday 24th March from 2pm, the PS4 competitors will face each other in the group stages, with two from each progressing.

The tournament will conclude with Friday's (6pm-8pm) finals and cross console final which will decide who is this year's ePL champion.

Journey to the finals...

Ollelito, playing on the Xbox, began his route to the finals with a convincing win over Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford, before sweeping aside Johno1997 and Svxnte in the play-off finals.

Michael Fisher, representing on the PS4, is no stranger to the ePL competition having competed in previous years, took little time in defeating BoomBoomCiao 6-2 and BogeyedKitten27 6-1 as he progressed to the finals.


The Group Stages...

Xbox Groups

Ninjas in Pyjamas' star Ollelito has been ranked first as the players head into the tournament, which will pit him against Jas1875 (West Brom), WHU RedLac (West Ham), MCFC Ryan (Man City) and PlanetToast (Newcastle) in what is widely considered a tough group.

Ranked 9th in the PS4 competition, Michael Fisher must navigate a difficult opening to the ePL Finals as he comes face-to-face with number 1 seed HashtagTom_ (Tottenham) as well as Papsity (West Ham), dannytaylor (Newcastle) and Brighton's MarcMarleyyy.

About the ePremier League...

The ePL is the only tournament to give players based in the United Kingdom the opportunity to compete as and represent their favourite Premier League football club in formal competitive gaming entertainment.

After the 20 clubs hosted thrilling ePL playoffs, 40 competitors have advanced to the online finals, which begin with the Xbox One group stages and quarter-finals from 2pm on Tuesday 23rd March.

The PlayStation 4 group stages and quarter-finals take place on Wednesday 24th March from 2pm, with the eight best players making it through to Friday’s finals day.
