Goals Leeds becomes flagship Leeds United College site

New site announced for Player Development Programme.

The Leeds United College are pleased to announce a new partnership with Goals Leeds which will become the new flagship site for the Player Development Programme. 

The Leeds United College prides itself on providing students with first-class learning, and this new partnership with Goals will further enhance the experience, enabling students to reach their full potential.

In recent years Goals Leeds has seen investment of £1.5m, with 17 state-of-the-art ProTurf® arena’s alongside flexible indoor space, which will help to accommodate the off-pitch elements of the Player Development Programme.

General Manager, James Thompson, says “Our organisation recognises the importance of grassroots schemes and community development incorporating education and supporting young people. Goals Leeds is looking forward to welcoming the Leeds United College and working with staff and players to ensure they can achieve their academic and physical potential at our fantastic facility.”

Angus Kinnear, CEO at Leeds United Football Club, added: “We are thrilled to announce that the Goals sports complex in Kirkstall is going to be our new site for the Player Development Programme. Both Goals and Leeds United are committed to grassroots work within the community and the partnership feels like a very natural fit. The facilities are superb and we believe this is a very important step for our Sports College.”

As part of the Player Development Programme, full-time study programmes are available, combining outstanding teaching and learning with an elite training and games programme, delivered by A-Licence Leeds United coaches

During each course, students will learn through practical experience and theory-based learning, all via a team of elite industry teaching staff, with classroom sessions delivered by specialist Premier League club tutors.
