College launch partnership with Prague Raptors FC

Education partnership launched with community football club.

Leeds United College are pleased to launch a brand new educational partnership with Prague Raptors FC.

This international partnership will see the education department working closely with the community football club, based in the capital of the Czech Republic, along with key partner Sheffield FC across a range of programmes and projects.

As the relationship between the parties develops the Leeds United College and World Oldest Football Club will support Prague Raptors with their Academy provision, foundation and community initiatives, Coach Education and specialist degree pathways for the staff they currently have working in player facing roles.

Prague Raptors FC are a new community football club based in Prague with over 50 nationalities across a variety of male, female and Academy teams . The club is focused on playing attractive, high-intensity football whilst also supporting its local community by helping vulnerable and discriminated groups. The club and its staff pride themselves on working with fantastic organisations such as Street Child, Brave Bear and FootballvHomophobia to help raise both funds and vital awareness for their projects.

The aim for each team based within the club is to continue climbing the Czech leagues, having already secured promotion in their first season last year. To achieve their objectives and ambitions the partnership with Leeds United College will be crucial in providing long-term coaching, educating staff and players with first-class learning away from football whilst also enabling future players to have the best chance of success within the game.

Spencer Taylor, Leeds United’s Director of Education, has spoken about the partnership and said: “We are delighted to be joining forces with Prague Raptors, offering more students the chance to not only learn but also give them the opportunity to work with a number of excellent coaches and teachers.

“We look forward to developing a strong relationship and providing educational pathways for the participants who take part.”

Daz Moss, President at Prague Raptors FC, added: “ At Prague Raptors, we are very excited about the new partnership with Leeds United College. The education department at Leeds United have a huge amount of experience and passion – as a club we are going to learn a lot from this new relationship.

“As a lifelong Leeds United fan I am very proud to have the club I founded connected to my favourite club and cannot wait to get to work on the project.”
