Educational partnership launched with British Weight Lifting

British Weight Lifting launch new college provision.

Leeds United are proud to announce a new partnership with British Weight Lifting (BWL) as part of its latest venture that involves a programme of specialist educational programmes.

British Weight Lifting have launched their very own Sports College aimed at youngsters with a passion for sport that will be delivered across the whole of the United Kingdom. Together with the Leeds United Sports College there will be a range of opportunities for anyone aged 16 to 18 that are keen to explore future opportunities at University and potentially develop a career in the sport industry.

Having developed a number of fully accredited education programmes; the initial BWL Level 3 Extended Diploma, that is equivalent to three A-Levels, will offer a fully inclusive 2-year learning environment for students with an interest in a wide variety of sporting career opportunities.

The application process will be open very shortly, with BWL supporting colleagues from Leeds United at a variety of Open Evenings in October this year and February and March next.

Students studying for the Diploma will be supported by specialist Leeds United tutors who will deliver innovative teaching and learning, along with sessions from experts within the National Governing Body and guest speakers within the sports and fitness industry.

British Weight Lifting is the UK’s recognised National Governing Body for weightlifting and para-powerlifting, with a remit to develop increasingly active, healthier and stronger communities, whilst inspiring weightlifters of all ages and abilities through exceptional coaching leadership and expertise.
