Sports College trials in Derbyshire

Trials to be held on Saturday 11th May at Derby University Sports Centre.

Leeds United Sports College will be holding trials for school leavers at Derby University Sports Centre on Saturday 11th May which will serve as a fantastic opportunity for gifted players to showcase their skills and ability.

The trials are part of the Elite Player Development Scholarship currently available to apply for and will be lead by Justin Tellus, the director of football for the Sports Hub that is based in Derbyshire and attached to the Leeds Unite Sports College.

Justin Tellus said: "The trials are a fantastic opportunity for Year 12 students that are interested in joining our Elite Player Development Scholarship that will be based at our Derbyshire Hub.

"Players that may have been missed through our recruitment network have the opportunity to attend these trials that will be centred around talent identification and player pathways."

As part of the Elite Player Development programme there will be coaching provided by DFK International, including from former Leeds United players Brian Deane and Noel Whelan along with former Bradford City player Andy Kiwomya.

Players and parents that attend the trials will also have the opportunity to learn more about the educational framework which will form part of the full-time programme. For more information on the course and what elements are covered as part of the Level 3 Extended Diploma, please click here.
