Opportunities available at Girls Development Centres

Six centres being delivered across Leeds.

The Leeds United Foundation deliver a number of different Girls Development Centres through Leeds and further afield to help support the development of young aspiring female footballers.

They are currently running six different centres on various evenings of the week, as below:

Garforth Academy: Monday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm

Snaith High School: Tuesday from 5pm to 6pm

Grammar School at Leeds: Wednesday from 6pm to 7pm

Calderdale College: Wednesday from 6pm to 7pm

King James High School: Friday from 6pm to 7pm

Aspire at the Park: Friday from 7pm to 8pm

The aim for the Girls Development Centre programme is to encourage girls at a grassroots level to join our female pathway within the club. This programme can act as an additional training opportunity for youngsters and identifies talent to progress up the female pathway into the Shadow Squad and then onto the Girls Academy, with both of these initiatives also being delivered by the Leeds United Foundation.

The training sessions are all delivered by coaches from the club’s official charity and give young females the chance to improve and develop their skills whilst also having fun and maintaining loyalty to their grassroots clubs. The coaches delivering the sessions have seen previous success with the existing Development Centres, with girls being invited to the Shadow Squad for a two-week trial and they are now thriving.
