This Girl Can sessions to start online in December

Free community programme for females to join and get active.

The Leeds United Foundation are launching online sessions as part of their partnership with the This Girl Can initiative, encouraging young women in the local community to get fit - with all sessions free of charge.

The 12-week programme is entitled ‘Females Get Active’ and the sessions are aimed at women aged between 18 and 35, combining education with physical activity.

Female supporters joining the programme, with the first session set to take place on Tuesday 7th December, will be able to focus on their mental and physical health, learning more about the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle. Through the partnership, participants will also gain access to educational workshops that will help them to overcome barriers with physical activity, ultimately helping you to become more active through various forms of exercise.

The club’s official charity are looking for around 20 females in the local community to sign up to the initiative that will really benefit from the provision, with weekly sessions taking place online every Tuesday from 6pm.

Each session will be broken down into two sections, the first will be a classroom-based session that focuses on a variety of health and wellbeing topics such as diet and exercise, health benefits and alcohol intake, with the final 45 minutes used to encourage exercise participation, with various activities being led by a Leeds United Foundation coach.

Throughout the duration of the course of the programme, there will also be special appearances from female influencers and role models, including members of the Leeds United Women’s team, helping to inspire and provide motivation for members to ensure they are able to thrive.
