Pride Month: Foundation launch exciting video campaign in celebration

Participants across every programme to show support for LGBTQ+ community.

The Leeds United Foundation celebrate their designated Pride Week from today as part of Pride Month which runs throughout June celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and all their achievements.

Educational sessions and workshops that look at the history of the LGBTQ+ community and the history of Pride will be delivered across each and every Leeds United Foundation initiative, with participants from the disability programmes, mental health and wellbeing programmes, Girls Academy, educational programmes and participation programmes getting involved.

To help mark the occasion of Pride Week and Pride Month, coaches from the club’s official charity will be working hard to find out what Pride means to those in our local community, and we will be creating a special campaign video that incorporates the thoughts of those who are part of the Leeds United family. This will look to include Foundation participants, Leeds United staff members, supporters, members from Marching Out Together, former players and players from the Leeds United Women's team.

The aim of the video campaign is to raise awareness around the LGBTQ+ community, some of the fantastic things that have been achieved over the years and the important role of being an ally, increase educational delivery around the topic of equality, diversity, and inclusion, ensure everyone feels welcome at Elland Road and Thorp Arch whilst also celebrating Pride and sharing what Pride means to the community of Leeds.

If you would like to find out more information or get involved in the campaign for Pride Month and have a video that you would like to send across that details what Pride means to you, whether you are part of the LGBTQ+ community or are an ally, please contact Julia.Hogan@leedsunited.com. *Please see below requirements for the video.

*Landscape video where possible, shoulders and above, good lighting, quiet area, maximum 20 seconds detailing what Pride means to you.
