Leeds United Foundation to host trials for Girls Academy

Trials to be held in June for U10s to U16s.

The Leeds United Foundation are pleased to announce trial sessions for young females that may aspire to play football within the Girls Academy (RTC) set-up at the club.

The Tier One trials are for places within the Regional Talent Centre and will take place in the second and third weeks in June, with the venue, dates and times to be confirmed via email for all of those interested in taking part.

The Girls Academy provides an enhanced couching centre for young girls within the Under-11, Under-12, Under-13, Under-14 and Under-15 age groups, allowing any players that are identified as having elite potential within the sport the opportunity to access appropriate levels of coaching support.

The aim for the programme is to enable these females to reach their potential, giving them the best opportunities to develop and improve their skills and giving them all of the tools so they can go onto play at the highest level of football for club and country.

The Girls Academy also offers a full strength and conditioning programme with access to fantastic facilities at Leeds Beckett University and there are individual development programmes all with full coaching support, which includes goalkeeping specific support.

If there are any young players within the Under-10s age group there may be opportunities to enter the Leeds United Female Pathway through one of the development programmes being delivered at the club’s official charity, this could then lead into becoming a part of the Girls Academy.

There are also opportunities for those aged 16+ to combine their full-time studies with a full-time football programme, starting from September 2021. College studies will be undertaken with Leeds City College with the Foundation on hand to deliver all the football development opportunities, including training and a competitive fixture programme.
