Rodrigo leads Spanish session with local youngsters

Premier League Primary Stars deliver exclusive language session.

The Leeds United Foundation delivered an exclusive Spanish lesson as part of the Premier League Primary Stars programme recently with an extra special guest in the form of Spanish international Rodrigo.

The educational session took place over a virtual call with three different classes at Lane End Primary School, which is based in the shadows of Elland Road in Beeston, taking part - all who are currently studying Spanish as part of their curriculum at school.

Ahead of the Zoom call, coaches from the club's official charity who were delivering the session tasked the youngsters with researching the Leeds United star to learn more about his childhood and career as a professional football, so they could prepare a number of questions to ask him, all in Spanish.

Rodrigo was keen to be involved in the session to give him the chance to learn more about his new club and meet some of the young people who live in the local community, with many of the students massive Leeds United supporters.

During the video call, the forward was able to help the youngsters improve their Spanish football vocabulary and was also on hand to answer a number of different questions about life as a professional footballer, growing up in Brazil and Spain, how much he enjoyed school as a youngster and how his life in Leeds has been since joining the club in the Summer. To help the children with their studies, he also made sure all of the questions were answered in Spanish before translating into English.
