Disability team nominated for Community Engagement Award

Leeds United Foundation nominated at Disability Sport Yorkshire Awards.

The Leeds United Foundation have been nominated in the Community Engagement Award category at the upcoming Disability Sport Yorkshire Awards (DSY).

The event was originally set to take place at Elland Road earlier this year but unfortunately due to COVID-19 had to be postponed. The rescheduled event will now be a virtual awards ceremony and will occur on Friday 25th September with all of the winners set to be announced following deliberation from a panel of judges.

Disability Sport Yorkshire are an organisation that champion sport for those with disabilities, working hard to address the inequality in access to sport for disabled people and celebrating those who help to offer opportunities in the local community.

The Leeds United Foundation deliver a number of different disability projects across the city helping to make football and sport more accessible to those who struggle with finding opportunities to stay active, have fun or play competitively. The projects range from delivering weekly sports sessions with young children and adults to hosting monthly events for older people suffering with early-onset dementia.

Good luck to Leeds United Foundation and all of the other nominees doing fantastic work with disabled people across Yorkshire.
