Supporters can take part and help raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation.

To help kick-off the new season England legends David Seaman and Glenn Hoddle are taking part in a virtual quiz night to help raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation and its life saving research.

Supporters from all clubs can take part and join Seaman and Hoddle along with Radio 1’s Chris Stark throughout as they celebrate the return of the football season by hosting the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) first ever football themed quiz on Thursday 10th September at 7pm.

The leading heart charity is encouraging football fans nationwide to put their knowledge to the test with four action packed rounds covering the Premier League, the FA Cup, Euro 96 and the World Cup.

Ex-Arsenal and England goalkeeper, David Seaman, said: “It’s great to be part of the first BHF Footie Quiz Night. Glenn, Chris and I are looking forward to putting you through your paces. We want everyone to get involved and raise as much money as we can to help the BHF be there for the millions of people affected by heart and circulatory disease.

“The coronavirus pandemic has had a devastating effect on the BHF, and it anticipates it will have to cut funding for new research by £50 million this year. The charity says the quiz could help raise vital funds at a time its work has never been more important.”

Former England manager and BHF ambassador, Glenn Hoddle, added: “My experience of having a cardiac arrest has changed my life. I’m delighted to be able to support the BHF’s Footie Quiz Night. Every pound raised will help continue to fund their life saving research and provide support for people in the UK living with heart and circulatory conditions.”

Overseeing the quiz will be host of That Peter Crouch Podcast and all-round football fan Chris Stark. The Radio 1 DJ said: “It’s an honour to be the Quiz Master for BHF’s Footie Quiz Night. I’m going to be testing your trivia with 50 fiendishly difficult questions covering domestic and world football. Today it’s more important than ever to continue to raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation’s life-saving research.”

The BHF Footie Quiz Night is free to take in part and will be streamed via the Just Giving website on Thursday 10th September. To take part, head to www.bhf.org.uk/footiequiz to register and you will receive the link on the night.

All donations from the quiz will help the BHF continue its life saving research and support the 7.4 million people in the UK living with heart and circulatory diseases.
