Volunteer with the Leeds United Foundation

Opportunities available to work with our dementia programme.

The Leeds United Foundation are currently looking for a number of volunteers to support their Sporting Memories Group programme delivered for people suffering with early-onset dementia.

Volunteering with the community initiative will involve engaging with the participants and their carers or loved ones, building relationships and working closely with the coaches at the club’s official charity to help deliver weekly sessions and ensure all members enjoy the best possible experience. The focus of the sessions are to allow older sports fans the chance to share their love of sport and reminisce on memories they may have of Leeds United.

Due to COVID-19 the sessions are currently being hosted through Zoom calls every Wednesday (1pm to 2.30pm), with staff, participants and other volunteers all involved. However, once the face to face delivery is able to begin, ensuring the safety of everyone, delivery of the sessions will move back to Elland Road.

Free training will be provided for all volunteers and there will be plenty of other opportunities to volunteer on some of the other diverse programmes delivered by the Leeds United Foundation.

If you are interested in volunteering please contact Beth.Kerrigan@leedsunited.com for more information and she will be in touch.
