Support for Trespass Awareness Week

Support for Trespass Awareness Week

Stay indoors and stay off the tracks.

This week marks Trespass Awareness Week and with the nation currently in lockdown the message is simple, children and young people should stay indoors and off the tracks in order to protect themselves and others.

The week long campaign is supported by the Leeds United Foundation as they work closely with the EFL Trust on the #YouVsTrain partnership between Network Rail, British Transport Police and StreetGames.

Young people (those under the age of 18) make up one of the largest categories from incidents being reported at railway stations, with many of these incidents due to people taking unnecessary risks such as taking short-cuts, not paying attention, capturing photos or some even attempting ‘train surfing’.

The Leeds United Foundation along with other EFL clubs continue to support the campaign by helping to raise awareness around the key messages. Over the last few seasons coaches from the club's official charity have been holding workshops in the local community as well as working with local schools to host educational visits to Leeds Station and deliver school assembly's focused all around railway safety.

During these difficult times we find ourselves in the message is clear to everyone to stay inside and only leave the house for a small number of reasons. If you need to use the train to get to work please be careful and stay safe.
