Girls Under-16s in FA Youth Cup Quarter Final

Foundation team take on Leicester City in the Quarter Final on Saturday.

Leeds United Girls Under-16s will take on Leicester City away from home in the Quarter Finals of the FA Youth Cup on Saturday 7th December.

The team defeated Stoke City 3-1 in the first round of the cup before taking on Derby County where the game finished 2-2, with Leeds United winning 7-6 on penalties.

The Leeds United Girls Academy Manager, Gary Waddington, spoke about their progress and said: “The girls have done brilliantly so far and we're really proud of how far they have come, we are really looking forward to the match on Saturday.

"It will be a difficult game, much like the Stoke and Derby fixtures, but it is also such a fantastic experience for them all to be a part of and fingers crossed they make it to the Semi Finals.”

This is the furthest Leeds United have made it in this cup and age group and will be a special occasion for all of the players, families and coaches from the Leeds United Foundation.

Good luck to everyone involved!
