NHS to host Organ Donation stall at Blackburn

Supporters given the chance to learn more about organ donation.

Staff from the NHS will be in attendance at Leeds United’s Sky Bet Championship fixture against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday to meet and chat with supporters about organ donation.

The staff members in attendance all work at Leeds Teaching Hospitals within the transplant team and are taking the opportunity to discuss the importance of having knowledge about the topic of organ donation with our fanbase – asking people to join the organ donation register if they have not already done so.

From spring 2020 the law regarding organ donation is changing which means it is a critical period in ensuring everyone is aware of the changes and encouraging people to have that conversation around organ donation with family members and loved ones. It is key to tell those closest to you what your decision would be so they are aware of your wishes.

They will also be on hand to answer any of your questions on the subject, whether it is around the current law and how it is changing, the process for transplant patients or the technology in place helping to keep organs preserved for longer periods of time.

Please go along to have a chat with them if you are in the East Stand Concourse, they have a facepainter on hand to keep our junior fans occupied as well.
