Dementia cafe celebrate The Great Get Together

Leeds United Foundation support annual campaign on behalf of Jo Cox.

The Leeds United Foundation showed their support to the Great Get Together initiative recently at an event hosted in East End Park.

The event is all about celebrating the fact that "we are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us" which is something MP Jo Cox said during her first speech to parliament.

Communities are encouraged to come together, up and down the country, to celebrate kindness, respect and all we have in common - all to remember Jo Cox who was sadly killed in 2016.

The club's official charity support the campaign every year and this year took their Corner Flag Cafe participants along to the event along with Leeds United mascot Lucas the Kop Cat.

The event was a chance to promote the work the Foundation do for people suffering with dementia and their loved ones whilst also giving them the chance to get out and about and enjoy a fun day out altogether.

The Corner Flag Cafe is a monthly event that takes place at Elland Road in partnership with Leeds City Council's Peer Support Service. The sessions are held for people living with dementia and their carers and gives them the chance to reminisce about all things to do with the history of the club whilst also giving them the chance to enjoy stadium tours, special video presentations and visits from special guests.
