The Leeds United Foundation delivered two successful grassroots football camps during the recent half-term holiday for local youngsters.

Over 90 young children took part in the sessions that were delivered everyday throughout the week across two different venues, with the kids participating in various fun football activities with FA qualified coaches from the club’s official charity.

The camps were held at Killinghall Nomads JFC (60 children everyday) and at Rothwell Town Juniors (34 children everyday) from 9am to 3pm with money raised from the camps going straight back to the grassroots clubs to help with their development.

Youngsters that were part of the soccer schools had the chance to not only develop their soccer skills but also improve on areas such as teamwork, confidence and leadership during the sessions. There were mini competitions and tournaments held with trophies and medals up for grabs and every child had the chance to meet Lucas the Kop Cat and walked away with a certificate for participating in one of the camps.

The Leeds United Foundation will be launching a ‘United on Tour’ programme during the upcoming summer holidays and youngsters throughout Leeds will have the chance to be a part of the new initiative that will look to keep children occupied during their time off.
