Leeds United launch partnership with Freedom4Girls

Free sanitary products to be available for female fans at Elland Road on matchdays.

Leeds United are supporting a new partnership that has been formed between the Leeds United Supporters’ Trust, On The Ball and a local period poverty charity, Freedom4Girls.

The partnership between the parties will see female fans provided with free sanitary products on matchdays at Elland Road. The products will be available in all female toilets for the remaining games of the 2018/19 season, starting with the Sky Bet Championship fixture against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

Baskets filled with free sanitary items will be provided near the wash area in each toilet for female fans to help themselves when needed. In addition the club will also be working to ensure that suitable sanitary dispensers are available in all 44 female toilets around the stadium for the start of the 2019/20 season.

Steve White, the Chairman of the Leeds United Supporters’ Trust, said: “It’s important that football clubs are inclusive for everyone and we are really pleased to be working with Freedom4Girls and to have the support of the club with this initiative."

Tina Leslie, Founder of the Freedom4Girls charity, added: “It’s great that Leeds United is recognising the need to supply menstrual products in their ladies toilets.

"Supplying cubicles with products and working with the Leeds United Supporters’ Trust to provide product-filled baskets in the toilet facilities is a fantastic step forward.”
