Bailey Peacock-Farrell surprised a classroom of children at Thorner Primary School on Thursday afternoon as part of the club's celebrations for World Book Day.

The Leeds United stopper was on hand at the local infant school to meet with youngsters taking part in a special Premier League Primary Stars session with coaches from the Leeds United Foundation.

During the visit the Northern Ireland international spent time chatting and reading with the students, answering questions about his favourite books when he was growing up and having photos with them.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper spoke to LUTV at the appearance and said: "It's been great coming and meeting the children and teachers today, I always really enjoyed reading when I was younger and I still do now so I know I'd have loved World Book Day.

"I think it's so crucial that youngsters know how important their education is and having days like today make it much more fun to learn for them. I could see how much they enjoy working with the Leeds United Foundation staff too, having that link with the club clearly has a really big impact on their engagement levels."

Coaches from the club's official charity work in a number of schools every week across Leeds delivering Premier League Primary Stars sessions to help children and their students make learning more exciting. The national initiative is not just about improving levels of engagement in sport and keeping youngsters active but it is also about inspiring them to learn and develop important life skills through the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs.
