CELEBRATING CHSF FOR VALENTINE'S DAY

CELEBRATING CHSF FOR VALENTINE\'S DAY

Special Valentine's Day related activity for fans at the Swansea City game.

Leeds United celebrated Children’s Heart Surgery Fund during the Sky Bet Championship fixture against Swansea City on Wednesday evening, with some special activities for the fans in attendance.

Valentine’s Day is a special time for the local charity that supports children with congenital heart disease and with the match just one day away from the love-filled holiday; it was the perfect opportunity to celebrate the club’s charity partner for the 2018/19 season.

The mascot for Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, Katie Bear, joined Kop Cat for a tour of Elland Road - meeting with fans and having photos with them whilst doing a lap of the pitch ahead of kick-off.

In the East Stand Concourse there were facepainters doing special heart designs for junior fans in honour of our chosen charity and a balloon modeller making Katie Bear inspired creations.

There was also a bucket collection outside the ground with staff from Children’s Heart Surgery Fund aiming to raise some much-needed funds to purchase life-saving equipment for the young children they support.

The club will be working with Children’s Heart Surgery Fund until the start of the 2019/20 season to not only raise funds for the charity but to also help raise awareness of the work they do and grant one-of-a-kind experiences to the youngsters and their families.

The money raised will help to purchase Super-Life Support Machines and a new Dialysis Machine for the Children’s Intensive Care Unit at Leeds General Infirmary and also help to refurbish the family unit based at the hospital.
