SPECIAL DAY FOR CHARITY MASCOTS

SPECIAL DAY FOR CHARITY MASCOTS

Mascots from Children's Heart Surgery Fund enjoy special day at Elland Road.

Leeds United Football Club dedicated the fixture against QPR on Saturday afternoon to this season’s Charity of the Year, Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF).

Five special children, who have all received treatment on the Congenital Heart Ward at Leeds General Infirmary, have been supported by the local charity and along with their families they were invited to attend the Sky Bet Championship fixture to be mascots for the day – enjoying hospitality ahead of the match and the chance to meet their heroes and walk out with them at kick-off.

As part of the day they were also given Leeds United anthem jackets to walk out of the tunnel at Elland Road in, special autograph books to get signed when meeting the first-team squad and visits from Kop Cat and a face painter in the Leeds Lounge.

The five children included Ruby, Jacob, Toby, Louie and Freddie and you can watch their very own Story of the Game below to see how their day unfolded.

The partnership with Children’s Heart Surgery Fund will hopefully raise vital funds throughout the 2018/19 season to help save the lives of these young heart heroes and many, many more who need life-saving surgery, support their families through the most difficult times and celebrate their recoveries and bravery.

The funds raised will specifically provide specialised equipment including; Super Life-Support Machines and a new Dialysis Machine for the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Leeds General Infirmary. Whilst other money raised will go towards helping to refurbish the CHSF family unit provision at the local hospital – this currently consists of seven bedrooms, a kitchen and lounge area.

The charity is funded solely by generous donations from the general public so they are only able to help children because of support like yours, any donation is greatly appreciated. You can donate online to the campaign at justgiving.com/all-leeds-all-heart or by texting LUFC19 followed by the amount you’d like to donate to 70070.
