A massive thank you to everyone that submitted an application to become 'Charity of the Year' for Leeds United Football Club throughout 2018/19. 

Around 200 applications were submitted altogether making the decision process to create a shortlist all the more difficult.

Earlier this week a panel of staff held a meeting to go through each application and the charities that have been shortlisted have now been contacted by the club and will be presenting their ideas for a joint project to the panel at a later date before a final charity is chosen. 

Angus Kinnear, Managing Director at Leeds United, has said: "On behalf of the club I'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone who submitted an application, it has been fantastic to see so many organisations getting involved and hoping to partner up with the club.

"We are looking for a really exciting project to work on with a charity throughout the 2018/19 season that all of our players, fans and staff can engage with and be a part of and that will have a positive impact and benefit those in our local community." 

The year-long campaign will see the club along with the Leeds United Foundation create a special relationship with the chosen charity that will enable us to increase awareness around the charity and what the charity does whilst also having a significant impact on fundraising efforts to support a specific project that will benefit the local community.

Between the club and the charity, the aim will be to create a lasting legacy through a partnership of unity and togetherness. Not only will the fundraising element be beneficial to the charity but crucially the club will also be able to deliver in terms of engagement levels and being able to create once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

Due to the amount of applications received unfortunately the club was unable to respond to all entries, thank you again to everyone that applied.
