Leeds United players visit Leeds General Infirmary on annual Christmas visit..
To help spread some festive cheer and joy, Leeds United players have taken part in a surprise visit to the Leeds General Infirmary to meet, take photos and sign autographs for patients on the children’s ward of the hospital.
The players, including Leeds United captain Liam Cooper, Pontus Jansson, Kalvin Phillips and Samu Saiz, took time to visit several children’s wards at the hospital – the players also took time to talk to hospital staff as they made their way around.
Joining their team mates in the visit was, Ronaldo Vieira, Gaetano Berardi, Luke Ayling, Felix Wiedwald and Pablo Hernandez.
Bearing special Leeds United Christmas gifts for the patients and their siblings, the players gave their time to all patients and their families to help spread some Christmas joy.
Leeds United captain Liam Cooper, said: “The hospital visits are so important to do, especially at this time of year. It’s great to get out into the community as a team and meet all the patients and the staff as well.
“It’s great to see the kid’s faces light up when they see us and when we are able to hand over a gift to them. “
Whites midfielder Pablo Hernandez added: “It is so important that we come and help the children feel happy around this time. It makes you realise what is important as well – and I am glad I was able to come and do the visit today with the rest of my team.
“I’m sure we have helped brighten up some of the children’s days today and I hope their Christmas is a little bit better now.”
